Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When you open the hood, you can see the plastic looks like a chewed up! Is this a common issue? Has anyone replaced this front plastic trim? What causes this?

POST 2Original post

Not sure why, but I replaced mine recently also. It’s an easy repair. The panel is item 15, the fasteners are 16.

POST 3Original post

I replaced mine a while back. The rubber had deteriorated. Simple 2 minute fix.

POST 5Original post

While underneath that panel, lube your hood latch with some white lithium grease, and find your emergency hood release cable and relocate it to just inside the front bumper tow hook plug hole. It is a simple thing to do and can save you hours of frustration trying to get the frunk lid open (even if you have the good old fashioned cable release inside the car).
