Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, I have a 2001 996 C2 Cab with Tiptronic that has approx 130,000 km. I am looking to do a suspension upgrade with H&R Street Performance coilovers, H&R sway bars and new endlinks & bushings. Is there a shop in the GTA that you would recommend for this type of work, including an alignments? I have had the car to EU Autowerks, Tweaks Performance, NV Euro and Eurocharged for various things in the past - just looking for the best bet for 996 suspension work. Thanks Bill

Their website looks great and many positive reviews - thanks for the tip!

I've had mixed experiences with EU Autowerks. They are competent and they try hard, and they know the 996 inside out, but they're not always organized, and getting something solved often takes more than one visit. A while back I took a 968 to Mantis to have new shocks and springs installed. They told me I'd be foolish to not also do a corner balance -- in retrospect, I'm not sure how true that was. The total for labor only was CAD $3500. And they scratched the car, and refused to accept responsibility. That's the last time I went there. Just my personal experiences. YMMV.

If you haven't already purchased sway bars, I have front and rear 996 gt3 bars for sale which will fit the c2. Though I'd throw that out there as another option.

Shocks or coilovers? My understanding is you can't corner balance without coilovers. To the OP: another option is Keltech in Markham. Liam is a real straight shooter.

Can't remember, I'm afraid. It was 10 years ago.
