My 996 C2 Cabriolet's rear shelf is looking a bit worn as it has the 2 location openings for the hard top. It's covered in material on what looks like a plastic base which stretches across the width of the car, over the years where the hardtop pins have been pushed into these openings its looking a bit tatty. Has anyone recovered this or had it replaced.? Part number 996.555.093.02 Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

have never replaced it, but have removed it several times for repairs. It is very simple to remove.
Suprised no one has mentioned it before, as on a lot of cabriolets I've seen there is always a lot of damage around the openings. How do you remove this and not cause any damage ? Thanks
Been a while. But as i remember you put the top in the service position. You will find 4 push pins that go through the back of the panel. Then you must pry the roll over covers off and you will find a screw under each cover holding it down. Then just lift it off.
