Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What are the current correct nos. for the RMS and Crankshaft Measuring Tool for a 2002 Porsche C2?? Thanks, Roger B.

POST 3Original post

Roger - send Gator911 a PM. He posted a thread on a bunch of DIY stuff, including the RMS seal and RMS installation tool. Here is a link to that thread. You might even be able to get the part number from the box in one of the pics. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...highlight=tool

POST 4Original post

The part # for the RMS installation tool is 000 721 969 90 There are also a couple other tools that i didnt bother getting such as the seal remover, the tolerance feeler, and the engine support...BTW the measuring tool's # is 000 721 969 91 I am doing it right now since all of my parts didnt come in last week...I will be finished tomorrow afternoon so i will update my thread... I would be willing to rent you the tool when im done... -keith

POST 5Original post

Keith - I will be interested in reading your review of the RMS installation. Not so much because I would do this myself, (because I am not THAT much of a "gear head" so I know my limitations) but it may afford others a good basis for deciding if they want to tackle this job. BTW - that is a nice offer on the rental of the RMS tool. I hope your install goes smoothly

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info., however I still need the part number for the latest correct seal. Roger B.

POST 7Original post

the new RMS is 997 101 212 00 I did the install today, and of all the work, installing the seal was the easiest... It took a second to figure out the tool though! -keith

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Gator-thanks for the info. I live in a rather remote area so I'm trying to gather enough data just to be dangerous. People around here hardly know what a Porsche is much less the infamous RMS. If I decide to do it myself, I'd like to have some supervision from you if possible. Thanks again for the info.-Roger B.
