Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello handsome rennlisters: In today's "I can't believe I have to ask this I'm a nub column"... I just purchased my first 911 on Friday. A 2003 Seal C4S 6mt with 59,000 miles after looking for about 4 months. I have previously owned 986s and in the front trunk I found this guy hanging out, hoping you could tell me what it is and what to do with it. Obligatory "yes I have tried searching for this", thank you for asking. Thanks guys. I'll have a thread I hope will be fun on some of the light mods I plan on doing with it within the week. Best, Kyle

POST 2Original post

Amp wiring harness. Does the car have an aftermarket stereo?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you. Yes it does. I figured it might be, but why would they route it forward and put it through liner towards the front of the car? Car had a custom sub in the rear that I ripped out as soon as I got home. Need to figure out now what the two amps in the frunk are doing, get rid of the single din unit that's in it, as well as figure out why the door and rear speakers aren't working. Going to go some kind of aftermarket double din jobber.

POST 4Original post

The OEM amp is mounted down low on the drivers side of a US spec car in the frunk.

POST 5Original post

Uh, a factory amp is mounted top center behind the spare tire at least on a C2/cab/Targa

POST 6Original post

It looks like the abs module connector, pull the carpet back next to the master cyl

POST 7Original post

Yep... That's the location for the factory amp in a 4s.
