I just got a Sony Handycam DCR-HC96. Vibrations from the car (GT3 with BK roll bar mount) cause a rattle in the camera which is very noticeable and annoying on the audio playback. I can duplicate the rattle just holding the camera in my hand and shaking it. It is an internal rattle -- it is not the battery or other external plastic bits. It does it with or without the tape, so it is not the cassette. Questions: is this normal? Can the rattle be isolated and eliminated? Thanks, Andy

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have you tried the I/O mount? I just recently swithced to the I/O mount and the video quality is much more stable (and vibration) is virtually eliminated.
The picture is fine, just a rattle picked up on the audio.
Sounds like a camera issue then.
