Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I received the email yesterday about this electric system that adds 150 hp to your Porsche and face palmed for starting my motor swap.. then read up on it and seen it cost $75000 ... hole smokes!! the mods you could do to your posche for the much money. Anyone know someone who had taken the plunge on this yet? I'd love to hear how they feel about they price vs the driving experience. Brian

POST 3Original post

If you read the article, they first explored feeding power in through the front differential drive shaft. This would only work on 996 and 997 non turbos. Making a "hybrid" 996 is something I have thought about too.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

just the price... wow. probably for less you could have one of the engine builders redo a motor for you with those gains... but I'm not a Porsche guru or diehard I just love cars and thought this was really neat. technology is advancing so fast cant wait to see what the next decade holds for stuff like this.

POST 5Original post

It only adds 170 lbs -- that's pretty impressive. The price seems way over the top -- prohibitive for a 996 I would think.

Yah, I think the added weight negates the added power.

POST 7Original post

The price is ridiculous. Starting with most 911 variants, with that money, you could move up to a Porsche factory-engineered option that wouldn't have the question marks associated with aftermarket add-ons.
