Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello and greetings to all 996 owners here! Proudly just took delivery of my 911 4 days ago. Came from Virginia. I do have a problem though. I'm currently living in California and would like to get my car registered. My car has the Fabspeed X-pipe and I was wondering if anyone who has a 996.2 could let me borrow their cats for smog. I'd like to get it completed next week if anyone is available. Please pm me. I'm in San Diego and I'd gladly do all the work and you can borrow my X-pipe. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.

POST 2Original post

i'm too far away to help with the cats, but welcome anyway You may be able to find a used set that you can keep stored for the 2 year smog checks

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looneybin, thanks! I see a few on Ebay, but wasn't sure if they'd be good for the sniffer in California. The cats are from out of state. Does it matter?

POST 4Original post

I think all the cats are the same except for the 200 cell cats

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, yeah, I had to verify the part numbers off of the Suncoast website. So, they should be good to go.

POST 6Original post

Maybe try registering it to a Montana LLC? I hear those really work well for hiding cars. Sorry, couldn’t help it. Good luck with the cats—anything to sneak one by the gov. TC
