Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had the PSE installed on my '03 C4S last week and enjoyed the new sound immensely. Lately at times it seems to quiet down quite a bit at all RPM's. I do not have the electronics installed and was wondering if ther is some way it is going into quiet mode?? Thanks in advance . . .

POST 2Original post

PSE is louder when the engine is cold, also when the weather is colder. It is les loud, more full when the engine hot and the weather is warm. The valve in it's "natural" state is open, so it is unlikely for PSE to go quiet on it's own. You may just be getting used to hearing the PSE sound. If you are truly concerned, take the PSE down and solder or weld the valve permanently in the open position.

POST 3Original post

Im not sure, but my GHL seems a little quiter now than it was new. it might be what palting says, because the weather is warmer now in Cali. It also could be that it quites down as time goes by, but usually exhaust gets louder as they get older.
