Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just curious as to how long you people expect to be keeping your cars for. I know, if I ever get a new Porsche I'll be keeping it for a long time. That won't be happening soon though hehe.

POST 2Original post

I plan to drive my 996 until the wheels fall off... knowing Porsche this may take a while ...

POST 3Original post

"Forever". By the time a new 911 model with enough improvements to make the buy worthwhile comes around, the C4S will not fetch enough money to make it worthwhile to sell. I'd just keep it as a track modifiable car and buy the new car as a glamour and occasional track car.

POST 4Original post

a year... i just drop off mine's @ the dealer and waiting for my new toy

POST 5Original post

I agree. I used to lease my cars because I liked getting a new car every 3 years. However, when I got my 2001 C4 I loved driving it so much that I can't lease anymore. So I bought my 2004 C4S Cab and I'll do the exact same thing. Hold on to it until it's not worth getting rid of then use it as a knockaround car and buy a new one. Peace, Rob

POST 6Original post

well, my 996 C4 was just sold after a little over 3 years of ownership. i'm not sure when the next one is coming, but i think i'll get another one next spring. i need to wait for a few speeding tickets to clear off my record first!

POST 7Original post

I'm driving mine until its unsafe to do so..... We'll see.
