Is this true? i called the service advisor at Porsche (Jerry Hancock) and he said that this is the new pricing for the Porsche Sport Exhaust. The same person who told me that any other exhaust will void my warranty. I thought the PSE only cost around 900 to 1000. This has been a stressful week for me , dealing with 2 car accidents (not my fault), Wheel damage (the detailer guy using simple green), girlfriend leaving, computer at home crash, and now almost 3000 for PSE. Life should be nicer than this.

PSE Ranges from $1500 through to whatever dealers want to charge. I paid $1595 from Brandywine Porsche. I know a few other people have bought from there at similar pricing. I paid for 8 hours install when I did mine with the complete electrics. Call around you should get a better price than that. Otherwise call Brandywine or Sunset Imports they have it for $1558 look at renntech.org under Porsche parts at dealer cost
They are nuts!!! Call Jeff at Sunset Imports in Oregon. I had worked a deal with him - $1,500 plus shipping through the end of March - assuming he still has some in stock. The $2,300 is the "retail" price. With regard to install, don't bother having the cutout switch put in. It's a waste of time and money and it's not always a good idea to have the inside of you car taken apart and put back together - squeaks & rattles, etc.
Swapping out the mufflers is pretty straight forward. I took my car to the local Midas Muffler shop ( after all, who knows more about mufflers) and they swapped them out in about 1 1/2 hours - $75.00
Man, I'd start looking to take my business elsewhere. These are vultures!! How much would they charge for simple things like an oil change? Look for another service dealer, and quick!
$1500 for PSE w/out switch at By Design in LA, $150 for the install of mufflers only. On the other hand, that dealer sounds like what Long Beach Circle Porsche first quoted me, $2375 for the PSE and $1400 for the full install labor, 3 full labor hours for without switch which would be about $375
You are not the only one...6 months ago my girlfriend left me, my hard drive crashed, and I snup my car into a curb..... So dont worry things can only get better from here on out. I live in Newport and our dealer is a joke...there service suck, no loners, ect.... I have 997 on order there and I might cancel my order and get one from another dealer. Good luck.
