Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I put my hardtop on and it rattles excessively. It did not rattle nearly as bad prior to removal. Are there adjustmens I can make or does a dealer need to do this? It locks into place but it is clear that the inside rear has a gap although the outside rear seems to be sealed to the body. Any help would is appreciated, If all connections are OK can I do any damage by driving?

POST 2Original post

I think it is normal to have a gap on the inside rear so long as the gap is equal all around. Try unlocking the two fasteners with the special tool and re-lock the top. If that does not get rid of the rattles or make the gap even, take it to the dealer. I had a similar problem with rattles and the dealer was able to fix it. The top definitely should not rattle.

POST 3Original post

There are a couple of TSBs on hardtop rattle...and yes, there is a little space where the rear window meets the deck. It should be even, though. Sometimes I've had to have help pushing down on the hardtop while I turned the lock.
