Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I got a quote to replace my front upper strut mount and front lower control arm, the labour costs seems very high. Can someone tell me if this is reasonable? Upper strut mount 8 hrs total for both sides Front lower control arm 3 hours total for both sides Alignment 2.2 hours This seems very high, this is from a independent Porsche shop. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Sounds at least 2x longer than it should take.

POST 3Original post

Shopping 101 - always get multiple quotes! That old saying "there's a sucker born every minute" didn't come from nowhere... good luck !

POST 5Original post

Don't know about the control arms by an Indy near me was 1/2 that in labor for front shocks/mounts. Also alignment was a fixed price.

POST 6Original post

if that shop charges $20/ hr those time estimates would be just about right.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone. I thought it was a bit excessive.
