Hello everyone, I am new in the board and I am a recent owner of a 996 Carrera 2 and it is my first Porsche. First impressions are really good. Coming from a 147 GTA Alfa Romeo (still have it) the car is much faster, and the 70 HP of difference can be felt really easy. Something that impressed me was the lower consumption in comparison with my Alfa the 996 is much stable on the medium and fast corners, and the grip is of course higher from the GTA. I bought the car seconda hand with 28000km, and SHE has the following options bi xeno sport exhaust (internal) FULL LEATHER leather seats PCM PSM Phone Audio BOSE CD Charger metalic paint electric seats park sensor and some other small personalisation (as white background on the speed counter etc). Finally I want to say that I dedicate this topic to Fozzy (he knows why ) here are some pics

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Nice car, welcome to the board. I suppose you didn't get the car in Britain since the steering wheel is on the left. Were do you do most of your driving?

Hi "Capt" and welcome to Rennlist! Great looking car..nice color and great photography as well. Hope to hear and see more of you...
WOW! Looks great. Good composition of photos as well.
Hi Capt Bady, Great to hear your experience! I am myself also a first time 996 Cabrio owner, and I share the passion with you. It's surprised me a bit however to read in your post that you are comparing your Porsche 996 with an Alfa 147 GTA or something... My friend, both cars are in totally different league's, and nothing comes close to the quality, durability and reputation of Porsche. I remember that in Europe some folks want to be associated with different brands of cars: Fiat/Alfa with a Ferrari:..... both cars are from Italy... VW Bug with older version 911....isn't the sound almost the same... Not to mention Opel cars............ With all due respect, all Porsche owners can without being arrogant take some distance from the other folks. This is why we buy a car that is less user friendly, makes more noise/music and the maintenance cost is also higher, but we still smile, because the logo of Porsche appears on the steering wheel every time you start your 996. Am I right or right? Enjoy your 996, it looks great! Marcel
Hi Marcel I completly agree with you, they are two completly different cars, but I wanted just to say which were the differences I have found.
