Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You guys have probably already seen this but for the rest of you, check this out! I'm not really a fan of those headlight surrounds but except from that, this is THE beast!

I need a 996 NOOOW! Anyone wanna trade yours for my midnight blue 993?

POST 5Original post

Good looking car, but it is not a standard 996. The rear fender flares are too wide. I really like the rear flares, I think it gives the car a very aggressive look. Add them with the side skirst and the front spoiler and you have a great looking car. I could do without the headlight covers. Still torn if I like the wing (part of me says yes other part says no).

POST 6Original post

Now there's an idea for the 997, wide rear fender flares incorporated into the body. Sort or bridges the past and future.

POST 7Original post

I, as you may have guessed, like the effect of the headlight covers. Harkens a bit better to the 993 look and differentiates us from the Boxter look. One man's treasure and all that........

POST 8Original post

It's a little hard to spot in those pictures, but the front fenders are flared out too.

POST 9Original post

huh well for a 10.5 rim you wouldn't have 265's so I smell something.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

People are having a go at me over at the 993 forum. I posted a topic asking what the hottest thing to tune your 993 was. I also posted that picture of the 996 because I think it looks RAAD! What happends? Rage against Miraculix!!! One of them.. How about neon licence frame, and neon under the fenders and under the rocker panels. I think purple, green and pink would look great. Another one.. If you can find it, a surplus cosmonaut pressure-suit from the former-ussr would be hot, heavy, extreme, edgy. This will give the appearance that you know how to drive fast when you roll up to the nightclub or supermarket at 5mph. Hahahaha!

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I must be incredebly stupid or something but I don't have a clue of what your talking about "techlogik" Wheels?

POST 18Original post

... In referece to the large wheel lips due to the wheel offset.

POST 22Original post

Not all of us on the 993 board feel the same as the others who rode you hard. Aside from the headlight masks, that car looks incredibly hot. Very sweet lines and equipment. I'm glad you posted more photos here.

POST 23Original post

I need to resurrect this thread. Can anyone provide me information concerning this car? What model did it start out as? Where you can get the front spoiler, side skirts, fender flares, etc. Thanks.

POST 24Original post

Wow! Only thing I don't like is the wide body. Here's my beast. And yes I let my wife drive it too.

POST 25Original post

I really like the wide body and that is the information I need. Scouser, Maybe I have missed this in prior post but I didn't think Porsche made a 996 C2S cab.

POST 26Original post

Yes I have had many people enquire about this. From what I can gather it is a European issue only. My cab is a C2S. It says so in the book, in the registration document, on the insurance detail and on the car decal. I asked my local dealer about it. He said there weren't many distributed in the UK and said it was a millenium issue for the C2 only. Insurance companies in the UK have it listed as a known model. I have only ever come accross another rennlister from Spain who had one. It comes with factory sports mods but the break calipers are black. Nice to have something a bit different though eh?

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

bet: Here you go: Creator of the red beast But it wont come cheap... http://www.albertweb.de/

POST 28Original post

good one. select "996 Albert Evolution Umbau" in the bottom selection list.

POST 29Original post

i like the headlight covers for the same reason. i'm having a set of these exact same ones put on my 996 right now. i like the look of the 993 with the round headlights, but i don't like that my $85K 996 C4 looks like a boxster from the front!
