Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I took the plunge. I pick up the 03 C4s tomorrow. I spent 2 1/2 hours driving the car today. So solid. The 4 wheel drive adds a new dimension to the handling. I kept losing my C2 and felt uncomfortable going into the corners (I know it was that my driving skills were far from stellar but whatever). I found that the 4 wheel drive makes the car stick around the corners. I love that. I was very impressed. I felt that the C2 had a bit more punch, but this could be because it was already worked in. Stats show that the cars are the same 0-60, but I still thought the car felt a bit slower than the C2. Anybody else have that sensation? I am sure that once I get a few 'harder' miles on the car the acceleration will feel the same. I will post picks if I can ever figure out how!

Congratulations on a fine purchase (Pretty much the same car as mine ). Definitely an awsome car, great handling and forgiving, but I also think it feels slower off the block, but makes it up in numerous other ways. You'll have lots of fun. (Having read that thread on a new porsche driver killing himself, Take it easy)

POST 5Original post

It feels slower because of the extra weight compared to the C2. The 4wd, widebody etc add about 150kg over the base 996, resulting in worse power/weight and slower acceleration. The advantage is it's easier to carry speed through the bends and accelerate out due to the 4wd, plus it has better brakes and IMO looks better.
