Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can a '04 Carrera with the Bose system get the Porsche CD changer installed if it didn't come with one from the factory? Are the cars prewired for the CD changer? Is this a big deal/expense?

POST 2Original post

Yes, with the CDC-4 changer sold only by Porsche. My friend is the shop foreman at my local dealer and he has put a few in Cayennes. 996 and Cayenne guys on this board have also had it done. Not prewired but there is a wiring and fiber optic harness that is put in. Jeff

POST 3Original post

The CDC-4 retrofit kit is the same price as the previous CDC-3 (-'02 cars) which is around $700. If the car doesn't have the optional pre-wiring for the CD-changer, you have to get the correct MOST connection cable for your car and equipment. This is another $60. Like Jeff said, only a dealer can install and program this.
