I have been looking out for a 1997 tt or 1999 996 gt3 in sydney and recently test drove a white gt3(private sale).I was suspicious about the sunroof(since not gt3 option).On further inspection, it turns out to be a 996 with a factory gt3 kit including seats and suspension!! Still very impressed with it, but not happy about the misleading ad, but speaking to the dealer that sold it, it all checked out ok.How much performance gain can be made to a 1999 996 and what would you do.I want to use as WE driver. feedback appreciated.

Most important, does it have the GT3 engine & transmission? If it's a regular M96 996 engine there is not a whole lot to be gained in HP upgrades, maybe a small amount with an exhaust +- chip.

Thanks guys for your feedback.Not genuine GT3 and owner wanted too much for the extra body kit.I have found a 993 tt rolling body and am considering as a build project.
