My idle is bouncing lately. Not at starts, but when warm and in neutral. Bounced between 500 and 1000 rpm. Any help? thanks!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I've seen in the archives, some suggestions of bad gas causing this. I would think that the problem would be consistent. Which it's not.
If your car is a MY99 C2 (not C4)... I would look for vacuum leaks or loose hoses. Next I would look at the throttle intake for carbon build up and lastly the idle stabilizer and throttle switch.
I get this on my 2000 C2 cab. It's been like that since before the last service (24,000). Loren, this carbon build up at the intake valve. Does this signify a problem or is it normal?
Could it be the O2 sensor? This is a common problem on 993/911's. regards,
