What's the deal? Are there no new GT3's on the street in the U.S. yet?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There's a thread at funcarsonline.com saying that PCNA is holding up delivery- some rumours say until September- I find that hard to believe...
There are no GT3's on the road. But my dealer said there are no delays on my order for July, or anyone else...,as far as he knows.
I checked out the thread. What I do not understand is the "not enough GT3's here for all the dealers yet" statement. What does that mean?Weren't most, if not all, ordered to individual specs by people that have placed deposits? I'm glad my car was not due until late July-August. I would not want my car sitting in port for 2+ months. Am I off in my thinking?
Where's Karl S when you need him? Karl has one in this country now, but not yet delivered that I know of. If he's got it already, he's probably out driving. He did say something a week ago about a rumor of a nationwide hold on GT3 delivery for some reason, but thought that was not the case.
KarlS is expecting his GT3 to go on the delivery truck on Monday or Tuesday. I'm sure he'll be finding out tomorrow if there is actually a hold.
My GT3 is at the harbour in Baltimore. Arrived on Fri with Karl S's car. For me cause I am in Toronto, it will be 10 days still before I get my car.
I have a feeling there are some little boys who are having trouble getting to sleep at night.
I'm trying to reach back in my memory, but if I remember correctly, when the new 996 TT first came to the states, didn't PCNA keep them in port until they had the 'official' release party announcing that the TTs had arrived? Maybe that's what's going on here, or maybe I'm grasping at thin air. Just a thought.
Makes sense, they can have a fanfair for the GT3 arrival, get more people into the dealerships, prospective buyers will be able to see the car on the showroom floor. I don't think I will ever order a car from Porsche again, can't deal with the BS.
OK guys, here's the scoop. My sales guy talked to his rep at PCNA. The GT3's are on hold in Baltimore (there were 5 on the boat) but they are not waiting for more cars for other dealers. They don't have EPA certification yet. PCNA expects it to come within the next week but knowing the gov't, who knows. In any case, it will be long before September. I don't know if this affects Canadian cars or not. I was seriously thinking about driving mine up to Montreal this weekend for the F1 race but it looks like we'll be flying via Air Canada instead of Porsche. Karl
Karl, One of those 5 on the boat is mine. What colour is yours? I'm heading to the race as well in Montreal this weekend. The cars will pass b/c the car was developed to both EU and the stricter LEV standards. What else did he say about the cars Karl?
My dealer just got his second allocation. They won't be arriving until Feb 2004.
RR, Mine is Artic Silver/Black. My dealer also got his second allocation and it is January. He originally thought it was going to be July. He said all dealers will get one car before any dealers get a second, which is why the big delay. He also confirmed that these are the first cars into NA, so the supposed sightings in LA and FL were probably just aerokit Carreras. I don't think there is any problems with the emissions levels, it's just a paperwork delay. Hopefully they'll release the cars next week. Do Canadian cars have to pass EPA standards or does Canada have its own certification? Karl
I saw one last weekend at a PBOC club race and driver ed event at Sebring. It was in the parking lot of the Chateau Elan Hotel. Unfortunately it was not tracked. There were at least 5 GT3-R's in the club race though. Champion Porsche lent the club a Cayenne for an experiment involving allowing SUV's (BMW X5, Mercedes ML and Cayenne) to participate in track events. Maybe the GT3 was from Champion as well. Or it may have been a knock off. Mike
My local dealer (Hoehn) stated that they're getting their 1st GT3 next month; when the other are due to arrive they did not say.
Found out today my car has completed production and I have a VIN. I was able to get the thicker steering wheel that I read in the above post was no longer an option. Anyone have a guesstimate on when the car should arrive? Already answered in another post. Thanks
