Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was pleasantly surprised to get up this morning and turn on the History Channel and see a program on the history of Porsche. It was really interesting starting from the VW WWII origins of the company to the 993 Generation of 911. They left a good portion out, like the developlent of the Boxter and the new generation 996 but it was still very enlightening and a must for 911 owners. The end of the program says, ..."the 911 is small, expensive and impractical but is highly sought after by not only the Porsche faithful who can afford them but by the millions of people who can't" If you get a chance catch it! You won't be disappointed. Another program I saw on there recently was the history of the Autobahn. Another great program. Starts out at the beginning with the camera inside a Turbo 996 going at ungodly speeds. The History Channel rocks! :-)

POST 2Original post

My friend called this morning ALL excited to tell me it was on. He sounded almost disapointed when I told him I had it on tape! It was on about a year ago and when it was over they offered it for sale for really cheap, like $14.95 or so. I also saw a show on E that was called Celebrities. This one was all about Ferry Porsche!!!

POST 3Original post

I saw it this morning too.... I was hoping they would cover the 993 as well as the 996 but they seemed to have wrapped this one up just as the 993 was coming out. It ended with some nice footage of some 993's being worked out. Not bad

POST 4Original post

The Porsche dealership in Pittsburgh has an unbelievable upstairs Porsche Museum. He has some vintage cars but also has a 99 Racer that was sponsored by the History Channel. It was quite a accomplished racer and has a long history that documents the success of this car at the museum. The History Channel must have some connection or at least enjoys the Porsche Cars. Doug
