I just bought a pre 2000 Porsche Sport Exhaust. Can anyone tell me what exactly the differences are between it and the post 2000 exhaust when it comes to the electronics? And should I even have the electronics hooked up? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
There is a switch for the post MY01 PSE and the relay is different. The earlier exhaust (which I have) was "automatic" if the electronics were installed. That is, it would silence the exhaust between 35 and 45 MPH by closing the valves. To my knowledge this was originally for noises laws in Switzerland. Mine does not have the electronics installed and is open all the time. It is not offensive IMHO and should not bother your neighbors unless you drive through your neighborhood at 5000 RPM. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Your not the one who out bid me on e-bay are you redhat? He had a few more and I got one at the winning bid's price too. The new PSE has 2" bypass tubes while the previous one had 4/5" bypass tubes. Is there a difference in sound between the two?
Yeah...that was probably me. I love EBAY! I am glad you were still able to get one. Great price too! So I guess the consensus is that I should not hook up the electronics right? Especially if I don't have controll and it muffles itself between 33 and 45. I guess that will make for a cheaper install...:-)
