Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Just wondering.. I know the clicking noise behind the dash is a known problem. Are dealers quite happy to fix it? I would have thought Porsche should have corrected this problem by now. I have a MY2003 car and it still clicks! Chucksta

POST 2Original post

clicking? Could it be the rope seal around the windshield, or the dash strips?

POST 3Original post

is this clicking only when the speedometer is moving? i knew of some older cars the motor in the speedometer was broken, like a bad tooth or something and that could cause clicking.

POST 4Original post

I never had this clicking in my 2002 C4S but certainly i will have an ear next time i drive her. maybe i don't recog. coz music is loud most of the times

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If anyone is interested... Loren has a TSB on the infamous clicking noise.

POST 6Original post

What is a TSB? And where can I find it? My clicking is over bumps, and sounds like it's coming from the windshield.

POST 7Original post

P1CR, That's the EXACT same problem I've been noticing lately! Some kind of "body-flex-sounding" cracking noise going up over bumps and stuff while turning... I wonder if the above-mentioned TSB (Technical Service Bulletin I believe) has anything about it?

I don't know about clicking, but going over bumps it sounds like something is loose in the dash on both sides, almost like marbles.

POST 10Original post

Hey, mine too. I can repro this by pushing on the top of the window from the outside. Sounds like it may be the winshield seal? Or, perhaps, the rubber seal around the window (rather than the actual bonding of the window to the frame? Anybody have any info on this mysterious TSB?
