Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, i was just wondering if someone else got a higher max speed on any 996 C4 Cab tiptronic. As I was told its the slowest Carrera Available. However i heard that some other people was able to get higher speed over 292km/h . but i would like to mention the condition i tried my car in . the weather was around 40C, windy a bit,my car had the hardtop on it and the A/C was on . so IMO its not bad a flat-6 to do 287km/h however its not fun to even try it, it danger risky and takes hell Long Time to Reach 287km/h. <img border="0" alt="[nono]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" />

Khalid, salaams - sorry, can't help with your question, but - slightly O/T, what's the temperature out there in Dubai at the moment? I'm flying in Sunday morning with the wife for a short break!! Looking forward to seeing some nice cars on the boulevards.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Jason, Well actually the weather in UAE is varying from day to day but these week it was hot a bit on the afternoon around 37-40 and at night its 25-30 Celsius

POST 4Original post

Khalid, basically the speed is maximized due to higher temperature coz the air is lighter and the drag is less, more speed.. However, the hot air results in less molecules of oxygen per volume, meaning less power to the engine.. What you should look for is for your rpm's to reach maximum limit which is related directly to the speed of the car. ..Next time you go for a run, first include me (i'll be there in a couple of weeks) and make sure your rpm's reach the 7,200 rounds. That will be your maximum speed. I reached 282km/hr in my C2 99 but then again as you said it takes longer time and I only have 7m wide roads here, it's super dangerous! Last hint from Carlos: Unfold your side mirrors. Wael
