Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My alarm used to beep twice when I locked it and once when unlocking. Now it's reversed. In addition, the windows don't lower properly when closing the door unless I click the key fob. Lastly, I have a newish battery that's turning over excessively before starting. Might the reversed alarm be causing a power drainage? Any suggestions on a fix? Thanks very much.

Interestig. I've had my car since new and it has never beeped when arming -- just the parking lights flash. A single beep means something is open (usually, it's the console lid). It might be that the previous owner re-wired the alarm to beep when opening and closing. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Why 2002 does this as well. Two beeps every unlock……..drives me nuts.

POST 4Original post

If I had my way I would rip out all the door locks, beepy things, alarms and immobilizer gizmos on my 2002 C2 M6. I would put the same two door locks that my dad had in the 1966 two door Rambler Ambassador. I would also put the high beam switch on the floor. My turn signal stalk is getting a bit wobbly. But…. I am an admitted geezer.
