Can the cd changer be installed either under the passenger seat, or in the storage compartment on a 996? I am in the process of ordering a C4S and don't find much utility in having the changer in the trunk.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I doubt it will fit under the seats or in any compartment inside the car. Maybe you could remove the rear seats and mount there.
I have seen one mounted in the carpet behind the rear seats but there is no room under the seats. Porsche has already used that area.
