Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, My car has been in the unheated garage for about two weeks because of all of the snow in the North East. When I started it up, the transmission went into Limp mode (flashing lights on the shift position indicator). This happened to me once last winter and quickly cleared after restarting it. From what I read, it was probably due to moisture that froze on some switch or relay (I forget which). It went out of limp mode after I left the car outside in the balmy 48 degree temperature for about 10 minutes, but the CEL is on steady and has the code P1823. I tried clearing it but it comes back. Here is what I found online: P1823 Porsche OBD-II Code Definition: Internal Mode Switch Circuit P Low Transmission transfer case clockwise shift relay coil Short circuit to ground P1823 Porsche Pressure Contr.Solenoid 3 Electrical Does this sound like it's related to the moisture/ice condition I mentioned above, and would it be alright to drive the car a bit to see if it clears?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Never mind. The code cleared. The OBD-II scanner interface is not intuitive. I thought I cleared it the first time but actually didn't. I RTFM and managed to clear the code.
