Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DIN Weight of C2: 1370KG DIN Weight of GT3: 1380KG Granted it's only a 10KG difference but I thought one of the features of the GT3 was weight reduction, especially in the engine which they state on the web site.

POST 2Original post

The reason for this is that the GT3 is based on the C4 chassis.

POST 3Original post

Other reasons are heavier engine, tranny, brakes (all much higher performance than C2). Losses in engine mass are reciprocating (fast moving) parts, not overall weight - it's a much beefier stronger block with a separate dry sump oil tank.

POST 4Original post

Lets not forget, with PCCB you reduce unsprung masses by 18kg. So, GT3 is less!

POST 5Original post

The factory DIN spec weight of the GT3 in Europe includes about 50 pounds more fuel in it's larger than a normal C2's fuel tank. If you correct for this the car is actually structurally lighter than a C2. <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
