Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just chose a car from my dealer's inventory that was ordered by a customer who could not take delivery. The car has the standard headlights. Can the dealer upgrade these to Litronics before I take the car if I pay for it?

POST 2Original post

Yes. MY02 and newer can be upgraded to Bi-Xenons (C2 and C4 Cab). MY02 and newer C4S/TT can be upgrded to Litronics or Bi-Xenon. MY01 and earlier can be upgraded to Litronics.

POST 3Original post

I did a similar upgrade, unfortunately they were not in stock when I took delivery. I had to wait 4 weeks for the install, but I didn't mind because they charged me cost and installed them for free.

POST 4Original post

That's a good deal. I think it cost me about $2K to upgrade to Litronics when I got mine in 1999. Same deal as Dr G, I bought a car someone else walked on. Saved me a 6 month wait at that time. Now the dealers have lots of cars sitting. Karl

POST 5Original post

Yes but the thing thats suck royal is they CAN NOT add the auto leveling with the litronics. On Evil bay they sell new Litronics all the time plus I think Porsche just raised the price to $1800 dollars. MASHAW also sells them for 1100-1200 dollars new! And if you want to save some money you can install them yourself. DIY Litronic install I put the Sylvania conversion on my 914 and I love them.

SunCoast Porsche has the Litronics kit for $1,095.00. This will fit a 1998 to 2001 Carrera, or a 1997-2003 Boxster.
