Here ya go. I've studied the components and layout of the engine and oil system.. I have a good idea whats happening here. It was bad enough to trigger a "Stop Sale" of all 991 GT3s. http://blog.axisofoversteer.com/2014...-catching.html

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

60km on the car and it goes up in flames? Porsche engineers are sleeping on the job?
uh ohh.... bad news... by the way, will this be covered by the Porsche warranty or your auto insurance policy?
Some of the information in the blog post appears to come from the thread on the 991 GT3 forum: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/...stop-sale.html (post #58) Also, some interesting speculation in that thread as to the cause of the problem.
Having seen the layout of the engine I have my own set of possibilities.. But lets see what they say the problem is. The GT3 has it's own oil system now, it doesn't share this with the standard 991 or even the Turbo. Its way different than those before it, too..
Interesting...
