Looking for a new confidence-inspiring shifter and have it narrowed down to Numeric vs. 997.2 gt3 shifter. Do too much track work for a short throw. Need precision and confidence and looking to see if anyone has any experience with either or better yet, both. Feedback? Thanks

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can you tell me why you think short throw is not good for the track ? I do track with my short throw b&m and was also thinking to go with numerical but so far I am Used to the short throw even many mentioned it being not the best for track duty.
I am certainly no expert and it really boils down to what you are used to using, but my understanding is that the longer throws and wider gate spacing allows for more definitive gear selection. Yes the short throw may be a bit quicker, but I am willing to sacrifice that micro second to avoid a potentially disastrous downshift. I know that there will be those that read this and say they "would never miss a downshift", but it only takes once to severely over rev an engine or throw the dynamics of the suspension off and put you off track. If you are used to your short throw I wouldn't change it out. It really seems to boil down to personal preference and I am used to a longer throw so I'd like to stick with it.
