Drove by the dealership this morning on the way to work and saw a used C4s (silver) exactly my color. 02 with 1700 miles. I have an 02 Targa with 3,700 miles. Dealer wanted $82K for the C4s. Would give me $66K for my car. Probably could grind anouther couple of K out of the Targa. Seems a bit crazy though. Any thoughts?
That sounds like a raping. 66K for your car?? 82K for a used C4S??? These dealers make me laugh. I hope they choke on all that inventory, it'll be there for years at the prices they're asking. I have a C4S and its a great car but it isnt worth a hit like that when you have a brand new targa. Enjoy your car with no regrets and tell the dealer to go pound sand.
you can get a brand new 03 C4S up here with zero miles for less than that!
You can get a low mileage C4S for low 70's if you look hard enough. that's only about a $5-10,000.00 difference. If you really like the C4S, go for it but not at that price. Trade in on your car is pretty accurate but you may be able to squeeze another thousand. I would negotiate the price of the C4S. Offer them your car plus 7K and if they say no take a walk.
thanks everyone. i do love the wide body design, but, for such a premium, it is not worth it. maybe when the nasdick stops tanking!
LOL, yes, I have to agree with "crazy dealers" comment. Similar thing happened to me last week. I was looking at the two new C4Ss that the dealer had just received, as we were talking, the dealer offered me the demo C4S with 4500 mi. and a sticker of $98K (no X51 mind you, just a lot of unnecessary options). I asked the selling price, and the salesman, after visiting the manager, told me they are willing to come off $10K to $88K. I looked in to his eyes, and he did not even blink.
