Hello, I am looking at 911 C2's and was wondering what kind of deals people are getting... I can't seem to find invoice prices listed for the cars on edmunds.com, does anyone know where I can find them? I also heard that the profit margin on porsches is something like 14% is that true? assuming the car is around 78k how low should I be able to bargain? what about for a used 2002 porsche c2 with 6k miles? what kind of prices are people paying? I found a car with the color/options i want and orig. msrp was 79k , asking 69,900.. is that a good deal? I am in NC if that helps thanks in advance

neal, you got mail.
I recently picked up a 2002 C2 Cab with 7500 miles from Paramount Porsche in Hickory, NC. The car had a MSRP of $98,000, asking price of $74,000, and the final negotiated price was $70,000. Trent was my salesman and he worked hard to get the price that I wanted to pay. Take a look at Ebay motors and see how much similar cars are auctioning for. Go to kbb.com to get the invoice price as well as the dealer trade in value. I would say that $5000-7000 below the invoice price is the place to be (low $60s). Hope it helps and good luck!
john, thanks for the info.. Cydog, that is good information to know... my closest porsche dealer is leith in raleigh, paramount is pretty far (5 or so hours away) but if I don't get the deal I want I will give them a call.. also just curious I now know that the C4s comes with more standard equipment than the C2... what kind of prices can I expect to pay for one? I have heard that a C4s is around 90k with comparable options to a C2 (78k or so).. anyone care to comment?
you can get C5S at at least 5k off, i am pretty certain of that, at least. base MSSP of C4s is 81800. if you option it wisely, you can get out at about 85000. but if you want natural leather, carbon parts, SatNav, bose etc, then it can go well over 90k.
Neal, you have more mail. Good luck on your search. Bill
I just bought an '03 C4-S and researched extensively throughout the country. I would say around 5K below sticker seemed to be an average selling price. If your open to color some of the less popular ones seem to get better discounts.
