Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Since LA Dismantlers auctioned out of business where do you purchase used parts for your 996? DC Auto? They are helpful but I need a driver's leather door panel for my 2004 Cab. Any sources not already mentioned?? /X3

POST 2Original post

I bought a like-new door panel on eBay for around $500 shipped.

POST 3Original post

Why not get it repaired ? That's an easy fix for a upholstery shop .

POST 4Original post

I had a really hard time finding driver side black leather w/black carpet door panel in excellent condition while the passenger side was no problem. It took a good six months scanning eBay and posting wanted ad on PCA website. Ultimately, it was a PCA member who reached out from my ad with one in great condition. This was just in the past 2 months. Considering you have natural grey carpet it could be more difficult to source a replacement. I'm with the comment above looking into an upholstery shop to see about repairing. Good luck!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for comments, and the natural grey carpet bottom must be a rare find. Several hits on the black carpet but none in great shape. I'll try PCA classifieds and scan eBay again in addition to looking into leather upholstery repair. Thanks all for your support! /X3

I just repaired this exact issue with a Leather World kit on my door panel. I bought the kit to restore my seats and decided to start on the door panel since I had never done this before. The kit came with filler, but I chose not to use it for two reasons. It's easier to add it in a pass #2 than add it in pass #1 and decide that I should not have. This is the prep picture. I highly recommend taping off more area than you think you should and I later added tape to the silver button thingy after I took this picture. I did not take an after picture because I fainted when I saw the results. It is completely perfect. I am extremely picky and notice the slightest flaws and they bug the **** out me. I am 75% done with my seats but stuck attending to a family issue on 3,000 miles away from my little rocket. Man I'd love to take her out on the road right now.
