Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All right guys. Looking for the buster that was driving a gorgeous Seal Gray C4S at around 11:00am this morning in the Hyde Park area. Litronics were shining, and the car looked picture-perfect amongst the falling snow. Also curious to know how the 4-wheel drive operated in the light snow? Any issues with the performance tires not gripping? Love to hear your thoughts. I am sure it would help all of us, since most of us don't get a chance to drive in the snow with our cars. Regards.

Hey, Vik: It sounds like me - but mine is nestled away in my garage. I spent the day sloshing along the Dan Ryan in my other AWD (Landcruiser). I'll tell ya, I'm just not quite ready for winter - no matter what I'm driving.

The car passed right by me as I was on the street (55th and Woodlawn in South Chicago). Didn't get a chance to see who was driving it, since I was drooling at the car so much. I know we don't like to drive our cars in the snow generally, but this looked incredibly beautiful. Fess up would ya', whoever you are. Regards.

What are you talking about!!!! I LOVE to drive my C4 cab in the snow! I put my snow tires on last week and it really does better in the snow than my Jeep Overland!! I have chains for it and i take it to the ski slopes with the roof box carrier! <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />

Dranon - Tire chains, eh? Hmmm....I'm not sure I can match your bravery or unwavering committment to driving your 911 year-round. What I can say, however, is that it's not the normal surface street and highway driving that makes me anxious, it's the alleys. You see, I live in the Chicago loop (i.e., downtown) and, as a result, access to my garage is via a narrow alley. Unfortunately, city services does not include sending the plow trucks into the thousands of alleys in and around the ciy after a snow. Consequently, after even just three or four inches of snow, well-defined ruts develop from the alley traffic. You can imagine how tricky it can become to navigate these ruts without damaging the low-profile front chin of the C4S. The most treacherous manuever comes when you actually have to exit up and over the rut path in a perpendicular manner in order to back into the garage. While easily accomplished by my AWD Landcruiser, it's just not something I want to try with my AWD C4S. On the bright side....we are expecting temps to rise into the 40s this week, so my season isn't over just yet. Regards. Terrence

Yeah I guess it would be more difficult under those conditions! I have driven out of my driveway (I live in the country with a 200 foot driveway) with 3 inches on the ground without blowing or plowing and the C4 goes like nobodys business!! Then when I'm on the street Ijust gun it and it runs straight ahead! I would hate living in the city.. I did NYC for four years. I just spent two weeks in Chicago well actually Waukegan at the Chicago Medical School for a course.

I don't dare drive the C2 in snow but did take it out 3 days after the snow was plowed hoping the salt would be gone as well. Came back from the drive to discover this thin coating of salt all over my baby. Good excuse to wash it again even though the temps were right around freezing ps: Bought an electric leaf blower to help dry the car. Works like a charm in getting 80% of the water off the car in less than 5 minutes. Follow it up quickly with some towels and not a single water spot even though the sun is shining directly on the car.

A little trick my dad taught me about 10 years ago and works like a charm!!! Highly recommended!!!

Anyone have a link to a site that sells a good one. Recommendations on model/purchase price would be appreciated. Regards.

The air is so dusty/sandy here I'd be afraid the leaf blower idea would be like taking a sandblaster to it But I'll certainly check it out.
