Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can trade an 02 Targa with 3K miles for an 02 C4s with 4K miles. MSRP on Targa was ~87K. Dealer tells me my car and a couple of K. I have not discussed further, so I do not know what a couple of K means. I wanted to get opinions first. Thanks.

POST 3Original post

I agree, Targas have a tendency to depreciate very badly, due to a very small market. The C4S has the advantage of being a 4 wheel drive vehicle and more in demand. If it is about 5-7k I say do it and try to get some type of extended warranty if possible. What options does your vehcile have versus the C4S? Let us know and good luck.

POST 4Original post

Wait. First find out if the C4S you're looking at has had it's transmission replaced OR needs it replaced. If so....it gives you some room to deal if you still want it. Also....start the 4S...see if it idles low and rough...some of them have this problem, too. Good luck

POST 5Original post

It's personal preference. Targa = giant sunroof, more unusual to see therefore more unique, heavier and less stiff therefore less performance oriented (if that can be said about P-cars), less demand but less available so resale diff may be a wash. C4S = great wide body look, good bang for the buck among P-cars (again,if that can be said among P-cars), high demand with short supply so may make resale a bit better. I have a C4S, so my choice is obvious. Go for it.

POST 6Original post

I would go for the C4S, the Targas just sit on the dealer lots around here.
