Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Coming out of the post office yesterday, a brand spanking new M3 convertible let me merge into traffic. Nice guy, I thought. I turned into a side street and so did the M3. Then M3 started honking. I stopped and out comes this guy smiling from ear to ear. Says his name is Rich and he just wanted to stop me because I have "great taste" in cars. He then went on to say that even though the M3 convertible (silver, all options but no nav) is barely 1.5 months old (around 1800 miles), he looked at my car (silver) and basically lamented the fact that he jumped the gun on the m3. He asked for a 10 minute ride and I complied. I then went in his car for couple of minutes and immediately felt like the car is huge. Coming from driving an e46 convertible myself, I was surprised now how large the car feels compared to the 996. Though the low end grunt and exhaust sounds were very evident, it *just wasn't the same* and even Rich concurred.

In London we are learning not to trust nice smiling guys, even ones with an M3. There are too many examples of car-jacking and we have to be a bit wary Still, it does restore your faith somewhat when you make a new friend like that.

POST 4Original post

The situation is even worse in Belgium than it is in the U.K. Honking, waiving anything like that is cause to drop it two gears and be gone. Sad world isn't it? S.

Though I initially didn't think much of it, my wife freaked out when I told her last night and made me promise never to do that again. And now hearing you guys' opinions, I don't think I'll ever stop again not even if the guy pulls up in a R-turbo. Better be safe than sorry

Hey...pick up all the passengers you want. Just be sure you have this in your hand or your driver's door pocket.
