Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have not been a avid fan of the 996 since its intro back in '98. I drove a '99 cab about two years ago, the car was quick and it handled well, and more refined than earlier 911s, but the quality of the interior and the shape did not do it for me........... .Last night I went out to dinner with a friend who recently bought a 02 C4s. I took it for a little ride and was I impressed. First off the shape of the car is very beautiful (especially with the center reflector thats reminiscent of previous generation 911s. The interior quality was top notch ( the leather dash and red seat belts w/ red stitching accented quality fit and finish). The car had great power that laid on very smoothly and handled with superior confidence. The car came with the motor sound option, which sounded incredible, almost Ferrari like. The car did not feel as raw as my car, which i didnt expect it to. If I was in the market for a 85K new car, there would be no doubt what my choice would be.

what sticks to my memory while being a passenger to a 996CS4 is how much lateral grip it can handle while keeping the power surge uninterrupted.. funny but scary. wael 996C2'99

In my humble opinion, the C4S is the premier 996 value. I still like the 996 turbo, but $ for $, the C4S is magnificent! Handling, looks, it has it all!

POST 4Original post

I rue the day I bought my C4S. I'm always out of the house for the littlest things, I seem to keep getting lost and taking the long way around wherever I want to go, I feel the need to open the garage door to take one last peek befor I go to bed, I get antsy thinking about the next DE and how I still have so much room to push the C4S despite besting almost every stock car in the runs I've been in....... Its a curse, I tell you!!!! A CURSE!!!!!!!!
