Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like I will need a new gearbox, 3rd gear has gone missing occasionally!! Taking to dealer on Friday for inspection. Anybody else suffered transmission failure scince Urbanski?

POST 2Original post

were you tracking the car or on the street when it happened? Chris

POST 3Original post

could be a loose shifter cable which is easy to fix. Otherwise, you may have the transmission problem others have discussed on this board.

POST 4Original post

Yeah hopefully just a bad linkage....but if you need a new one, at least Porsche has tons of new trannies in the States.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Car hsa only 541 miles on the clock, never seen the track yet!!

POST 6Original post

I have noticed the same thing in fourth on about 3 separate occasions on the highway. I would shift to 4th and the RPM's would just rev limit out so I wouuld drop to neutal and try again. This is my second transmission since I had the car and has only about 2,000 miles on it. The first went after it would gring when shifting from second to third under heavy load. Good Luck and let me know what the dealer tells you

POST 7Original post

Uh oh.. Porsche if having lots of transmission issues. My car just got a new one to replace the 1st 2nd gear shaft defect and the new one did not make it 5 mile before it started making bad noises... it went back to the dealership for another replacement.
