Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I read in a European auto magazine, that in 2004 the 997 will come out with a 3.8 liter 340 hp engine. In 2005 a C2S with a 375 hp direct petrol engine will come out. The writer of the column said it was about time that porsche had a direct petrol engine which would give it a lot of hp. I know tha in the USA this would read direct gas engine. Does anyone know what they mean or what this direct gas does or is? I have not heard of anything like this before, is it something porsche engines use in racing? I would love some feedback as this article had some very exciting plans for the next 5 years of porsche 911's

Isn't that how the first fuel injection systems from MB worked, just like diesel fuel injection?
