Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a gap when the top is fully lowered: When the top is in service position, I have some vertical play on the driver's side; on the passenger side it's pretty rock solid. The tension cables to the rear ball sockets look very good and the top is a high quality replacement that was done about 6 years ago, so it fits really well. I've looked around but haven't found anything yet that addresses this issue. I've looked at the struts internally and nothing seems different between the two sides; both the long cables that run down and are held in place with screws are still attached and unbroken. Here's a picture from behind of the driver's side mechanism with some fabric peeled back. To my untrained eye, it and the passenger side look identical. What's the process for adjusting it so it's flush? Many thanks.
