Got an e-mail from Gert. Apparently the Pirelli Corsas are now available. These are the only DOT competition tires I know that come in 295X30-18. Anybody have experience with larger size items getting shipped from Carnewal? How, if any, are the taxes, levies, fines etc? Thanks in advance.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks in advance.

Hope there aren't any customs agents lurking on the board but a very close "friend" of mine who ordered a carbon fiber center console and GT3 console delete from Gert several months ago never had to pay import duty on it. My understanding is that the duty issue can be hit and miss. There were no other applicable taxes or fees....just the shipping charges which Gert will quote you ahead of time.
Yes, customs is hit and miss, but it's hard to miss 4 large tires... Anyways, if you get stung, expect a few percentage points of duty (3 or 4% maybe)
The things I have ordered have been around 3-4% of "total invoiced price". No other US taxes are charged. The customs bill comes from DHL (they have to pay it initially) and mine usually come about 5-6 weeks after I get the parts.
I was told that 'parts' are duty free as they are replacement parts, but tires are probably a fixed comodity kind of thing and would be taxed.
Thanks for the replies, all. It might be a while yet before I get the tires, though. I just took the wheels off bleeding the brakes, and there's still quite a bit of thread on them, more than I thought . Oh, well. Time to scrub them down on some more DE's
