A friend of mine is looking for a nice 996 to purchase. Apologies if this is something that has been mentioned many times over but what are the updates for the 996 C2 for 98,99 and 00? He is currently looking at a sweet 99 996 C2 6 speed with TC. Is TC an optional extra? Is it any good? What is the difference between TC and PSM? There have been many articles and posts about these changes. I think the best source is Excellence Magazine where Bruce Anderson reviews the 996, and I think this was done in the past 2 or 3 months.
"99" had Traction Control (Posi traction mechanical rear Differential) "00" and on has PSM(Porsche Stability Management). Computer controls wheels spin with the ABS system. Greay for street and normal driving, sort of sucks on the track. I like Traction Control but its no longer available.
