Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been hearing recently that the new 911 will be out in fall 2004, as an '05 model, offering both a 3.8L flat six and a V-8 option based from the Cayenne. Has anyone heard anything like this? Our we only two years away from a new 911? Any info greatly appreciated. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

POST 2Original post

997 in 2004/2005 will be a flat-6 with 330 some horses. There is rumor of a V8 powered 998 coming out just 2 years after 997. But I personally think the the Cayenne V8 based model will not be an 911 offspring, but a new GT Couple resurrecting 928.

POST 3Original post

I heard that in sept. 2003 Porsche is expanding the 3.6 liter engine to 3.8 with slight changes to the front and rear bumpers. The all new 911 will probably be launched late 2005. The rumours about the V8 are probably about a replacment of the turbo with a V8 powered engine.
