Cleaning up the car after some fun run laps at VIR and I discovered this wire just sitting loose on the right side. Any idea what it is and where it belongs? Thanks. PS - where can I find detailed engine diagrams?

Is it the same plug that I was asking about earlier this week? https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...this-plug.html Here's a couple of pictures of the one I was looking at: If that's the one you are talking about, it just plugs into a clip on the right side of the engine bay. See the above thread. Very odd as the clip appears to just be a holder for the plug - there are no actual wires or plugs that it hooks into. The clip just seems to hold it out of the way so it won't get caught in the serpentine belt, I think. I don't know if it is some sort of servicing or diagnostics connection. Maybe someone can enlighten us.

I found the same clip yesterday as i was changing out the water pump? I thought i unplugged it by mistake, looked for a long time to see here it went but never found anything. I figured it was some kind of accessory that my car didn't come with, ty-wraped it out of the way and car ran fine without it.
