Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What makes the C4S different from the Targa, are the C4S's essentially turbo parts and more robust shape worth the lack of the targa's differentiating huge moonroof?

POST 2Original post

Well, for one thing, the C4S is an AWD while the Targa is RWD. Other than that, the C4S has the Turbo's widebody and brakes. The wheels are the same size and style but are solid spoke rather than hollow for the Turbo.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So basically its 4wd, better parts and (handling?) vs essentially a carrera coupe with a huge sunroof?

POST 4Original post

No, the C4S does not necessarily have better parts and handling. It may do better on slippery surfaces but not much in the dry. The C4S is also heavier than the Targa by 121 lbs.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

did i make a bad choice with the targa? the huge moonroof is the only thing that differentiates it from the carrera coupe right?

POST 6Original post

Why would it be a bad choice. You get what you like. Different strokes for different folks.

It's the car you like, and you went for it. Some like black, some like silver, Streisand wanted Purple!!! . It is an excellent car. Not only is it a Porsche, it is a 4 seasons sunroom on 4 wheels!! Conratulations! Post pics!!!

it's hard to make a very bad mistake choosing a new porsche <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> it's when you get it home that the crap hits the fan <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> but it's worth it <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

Hey all, I picked up my 2002 Targa about 2 weeks ago, black on black 6spd. I couldn't be happier. This is my first Porsche (I'm only 23 though) and the first time I have ever driven one! You definitely made a good decision, although buying any Porsche is a good decision. I too was debating between a C4s and a Targa, I went for the Targa and I just ordered a 2002 Turbo front bumper and a RUF Turbo rear bumper for narrow bodies. I am soooo excited. If you have any questions about the Targa, I'd be happy to answer them! Best Regards, Dan
