I am wondering is there any big different between a 1999 996 C2 and a 2001 996 C2? + Anyone konws any web site which I can read more about the modification of a 996? Like bodykit and stuff..........

Not a lot of differences from 99 to 01. Subtle interior changes, etc. Some 99's had Traction Control (PSM was not avaialble in 99) and 00- has PSM option. For upgrade parts I like Carnewal.com <a href="http://www.carnewal.com" target="_blank">Carnewal.com</a>

I think the addition of Egas(drive by wire) throttle started from 00- which bumped the hp from 296 to 300. Also like Loren said PSM wasn't offered til 00- so only option was Traction control. Interior appointments ie plastics majority say its better for 00- but wouldn't know- I ordered full leather which I recommend you get plus 3 spoke steering wheel and litronics and 18's. There all great cars so like they say "Get the newest car you can afford". I do have to say the 99 is the simplest of the 996 era and only model without egas or psm(just traction control as an option). Regards. Mike

Actually, PSM was included on the '99 C4, but not available as on option on the C2 until '00. Interior trim was different (unless you purchased a '99 with full leather option - I did - and is a real improvement over the imitation leather which was terrible in the '99 and average in the '00-01) and hp was 296 v. 300 (I believe there was a modification to the exhaust system in '00). I'm not sure, but I don't think the 3 spoke wheel was available as a reasonably priced option in '99 (can't swear by it) - I have the 4 spoke leather wheel on my '99 (wish it was a 3 spoke - but the change over now would require a new airbag module). If you went with the carbon fiber shfiter, the porsche crest is not colored (I know the crest is colored for '02 - don't know for sure about '00-01).
