Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was looking at GMG's power kit. They are here in Santa Ana, Ca. - GIAC Software Upgrade w/2 programs - 91-93 and 100 oct. - Sport Air Box - Sport Exhaust Manifold with 100 Cell Catalyst and Sport muffler - 35+hp gains That seems like an option and an inexpensive one at that. I have sports exhaust so I wouldn't need the muffler. 35-40 HP is probably enough to make me happy. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or thoughts. Appreciate it.

POST 2Original post

They are usually on the pricey side, but they do good work. I would price out other shops for the same items, most will beat there price. Try Vision Motorsports(Dwain) or Hergesheimer(Eric).

POST 3Original post

I don't think you will get 30-40hp to the wheels with that set-up. It will improve pedal response, sound, feel. You will have to weigh those against the price to see if it's worth it to you.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. I will investigate further. I need to call around for sure.

POST 5Original post

If it was that easy to "bolt on" 35 HP, I think Porsche would have done that already. FYI, the Porsche "Carrera Power Kit" X51 option costs $16,900 for a gain of 26 HP versus standard engine.

POST 6Original post

AND - do you think you will feel 20 more horsepower? really? I think you might hear more horsepower with a better exhaust and call it good - just my opinion
