Car - 99 C2, Manual, 6-Speed - Non-Sport Seats (Standard Black Leather Seats) It appears that the ***** up by the headrest portion of the seat no longer do anything and I can't get them on either the driver's side or passenger side to work in getting the seat to fold forward. Anyone have a good guide or video to watch on fixing this? I imaging it's a busted cable or retention guide or something. The electrics to push the seat forward or back and tilt forward and back work fine - it's just the upper ***** to do a quick tilt forward don't work. Thanks!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have this issue on my driver seat, 90% of the time. Every now and then I can get the lever to lift up, so the seat will fold forward, but not all the itme.
I had this exact same problem on the driver's side seat in my '99. After I reviewed the parts diagrams to see how the lever should work, I was pretty sure the cable had broken. I disassembled the entire seat and sure enough -- cable was broken. Unfortunately, the cable is expensive and no longer available, but I was able to fix it with some thin stainless steel wire rope (~1/16") and crimps.
Have you tried the levers on both sides of the seat back? I had this issue on my early '99 but the lever on the inside (center of car) of the seat back would work. I suspected the outside (door side) lever had a broken cable as the inside lever still worked.
