Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now I know why my insurance is so high. What a shame to see a nice 2002 Carrera come to such an early end. Let's all take it easy out there, okay?

POST 2Original post

..Upss.... The driver was injured?.. how the hell this happen?

POST 4Original post

Looks like a rollover. Darn that's too bad. Hope the driver is ok. The driver side looks pretty intact. Regards. Mike

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don't know what happened to the driver, but can assume from the damage he/she should have been okay if they were buckled in. Car is in a PA salvage yard, so it probably happened near there. PA turnpike accident? You could almost see it skid, hit the low stone wall and roll over the side.

POST 6Original post

Impossible, something must have fallen on it - only SUVs roll over.

POST 8Original post

Thats a shame. The PA tunpike is where I do all my speeding and crazy driving too. I have come close to topping my car on it. Sometimes seeing something like this makes me realize that I have to be more a lot more careful because I am not completely invincible in my baby.

POST 9Original post

Ouch! Is PSM standard on all 2002's? Wonder how this happened.

POST 10Original post

[quote]Originally posted by variable: Ouch! Is PSM standard on all 2002's? Wonder how this happened.

Contrary to popular opinion, PSM does not allow one to defy the laws of physics.

POST 11Original post

Or to elaborate. In the current issue of Pano is a quote from Jeff Purner, chief instructor at the Porsche Driving Experience, "If you go 100 mph in a 50 mph corner, PSM won't save you. It'll just make you go off the road in a more contolled manner." The article is about comparing two turbos, one with tip, one manual, and whether or not the tip will make the average driver faster. It didn't appear to. Terry

POST 12Original post

DJ, you're right, that's not what i meant. I was just curious if this car was equipped with PSM or not.

POST 13Original post

[quote]Originally posted by variable: Ouch! Is PSM standard on all 2002's? Wonder how this happened.

Sobering picture. No, PSM is standard only on the C4S and Turbo, an option on the other 911's except GT2. I liked that line, "... off the road in a more cotrolled manner". There are limits to everything.

POST 14Original post

PSM is standard on the AWD vehicles. (C4S, Turbo and C4 cab) Available option on all other Porsches.

POST 15Original post

Sad to see...but hopefully sobering for those of us who might drive too fast...
